Garbage! The more advanced and richer you are, you produce more of it.

Each of us produces an average of 1.7 kg of waste per day.

It's really a lot of garbage!!

So, maybe we should consider how we can reduce it ...

Our video deals with the consumption of products with unnecessary packaging that fill the school bins and in general.

Hope that the message will pass, and people will prefer to consume products without packaging.

If there was no water, there would be no life. We look for water on other planets in our solar system, but sometimes we don’t appreciate the water that literally flows right under our noses. Kolačanský Creek is one of two water sources of Nová Dubnica. However, both creeks flowing through the city have major problems with pollution and over-use for garden irrigation. Their water levels have had record lows. Will this city lose its only two watercourses in a few years? It’s important to draw attention to this problem!

We created this video to promote the zero-waste lifestyle. By using a waste bin as the focus of the video, we showed how Malta’s waste crisis could be eased by ditching single-use products.

Denise Brignani and Federica Scinetti. Refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle and rot are the pillars of the Zero Waste Movement which inspired us. With this short and funny video, we hope to contribute to a mentality shift towards waste and the environment in general. https://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20180129/community/watch-the-death-of-a-university-waste-bin.669236#.Wm8pSa4OA9s.facebook

How should burnt oil be thrown away? Can we recycle it? These are the questions that our students asked and researched after noticing the amount of oil that is thrown away. The research involved internet research, vox pops, an online survey, interviews to WasteServ and an interview to the Mayor of the locality. Towards the end of the video the students created a short tutorial on how oil should be disposed of correctly.

How does burnt oil harm the environment? Can we recycle it? How should we dispose of it? The Multimedia Students at ALP have investigated this issue in Malta and come up with some recommendations for the community.

In this video, two students report on the escalating crime of food wastage that has infiltrated all levels of modern society. The video addresses the problems caused by food wastage economically, environmentally and morally and then focuses on the villainous practices in our local homes, schools and supermarkets that are collectively contributing to the rapidly growing global food waste footprint. The video challenges the viewer to consider whether they are the hero or the villain when it comes to the felony of food wastage! It may make uncomfortable viewing!

The film was made during the UNESCO project on climate change. Our school is one of the four primary schools in Greece that were chosen for this project. During a three- day workshop in nature we made the film” Paperland”.

The film shows that we do not need to take extreme measures to save the planet. Any small and individual act that we adopt in our everydaylife can make a difference.

Chewing gum is a world-wide problem. We find them in the oceans, in waiting rooms, on roads, and on sidewalks. Gum has even found its way into small cities like Nová Dubnica, not far from Trenčín. Every year there is an accumulation of hundreds of small, sticky, spots. How can this problem be solved?
